Chef Ash Metcalfe allowing York residents to taste leftovers

The York and North Yorkshire Waste Partnership attended the 2009 York Festival of Food and Drink with Chef Ash Metcalfe cooking up leftovers, and staff from City of York and County Councils handing out information on other ways to reduce their food waste

The four days at the festival were very successful with the 12pm cookery demonstrations on Friday and Saturday full of people tasking Ash's recipe for smoked salmon pate, and spanish potato tortilla from the love food hate waste website. So you can try this recipe, and the others cooked up during the event, all recipes are listed below as pdf documents.

Leftovers cooking is just one way to use up your food, staff were also manning a stall with information on perfect portion sizes, ways to keep food fresher for longer and more recipe suggestions. To find out more practical ways to reduce your waste, visit love food hate waste.
