Choose2Reuse Fashion Show
The first Choose2Reuse Fashion Show held at York Racecourse on 28 May was a sell out success, with well over 450 local people attending.
The highlights of the show
During the first part of the show Woodlands Respite Care, St Leonards Hospice, Oxfam, Save the Children, British Heart Foundation and Bag it Up for Yorkshire Air Ambulance showed us incredible collections of the unique, reusable clothing we can buy locally. York College students and local designers then strutted their redesigned creations showing us that with a little imagingation, we can work wonders and extend the life of forgotten fashions, mistake purchases or reused clothing. The fashion show clearly demonstrated that we can look fantastic on a budget in reused fashion.
Througout the show there were opporiunities to browse displays and stalls of charities, reuse organisations, designers, colleges and local crafts people and purchase reusable, reused and redesigned goods.
Whats next?
Due to the success of the first show a second is now planned to take place in Harrogate in January 2011.
How can I get involved?
If you are a charity shop, reuse organisation or local designer or crafts person interested in being involved in the next show we would like to hear from you.
